A fully revised 2nd Edition, lavishly illustrated with many previously unpublished photographs kindly supplied by Peter Trinder, the late Dave Salmon and Richard S Greenwood MBE. Chapters range from Geoff's first interest in railways as a 'trainspotter' in the late 1950s to starting work as an engine cleaner, graduating to become a fireman and working with a diverse range of Drivers and Southern steam locomotives. Geoff was also fortunate to be one of the firemen on one of the last locomotives to leave Guildford MPD bound for Salisbury on 9th July 1967.
