Family drama directed by John Kent Harrison based on the novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery. A young orphan named Anne Shirley (Ella Ballentine) is accidentally taken in by the Cuthberts, a middle-aged brother and sister whose intention had been to adopt a boy. Nevertheless, they take Anne into their care on their rural farm. Imaginative young Anne must learn how to settle into her new environment be it on the farm, at school or in the company of her new family. The cast also features Martin Sheen, Sara Botsford and Julia Lalonde.
