Summary:
Triple bill of martial arts films. In 'Flying Swords of Dragon Gate' (2011) Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man (Tony Chiu Wai Leung) travels from Foshan in China to Hong Kong after the Sino-Japanese War where he aims to progress within his martial art and take on his rival Gong Yutian (Qingxiang Wang). With Gong retiring and ready to announce his successor, Ip Man sets up a school and starts teaching his beloved art in order to find a suitable heir. 'Dragon' (2011) sees an incredibly scrupulous detective on the trail of a former criminal who has attempted to start a new life. Set in 1917, the film finds Liu Jinxi (Donnie Yen) and his wife Ayu (Wei Tang) living quietly in a small village. Their sense of tranquility is disrupted however, when a pair of robbers descend on the local store and Liu's intervention results in their death. When Detective Xu Baijiu (Takeshi Kaneshiro), a man faithfully loyal to the law, arrives in the village to investigate, he immediately becomes suspicious of Liu. How could an ordinary villager possess the skills to overcome two hardened criminals? In 'The Legend Is Born: Ip Man' (2010), set three years after the Dragon Inn was burned to the ground, a new bunch of marauders have moved in. But they have ulterior motives... It seems that buried beneath the Inn is a lost city that can only be uncovered in a storm which happens every 60 years. But as they wait for the storm to hit, a woman and her protector come seeking protection from assassins who are out to take her unborn child.
